Miguel Delibes

IES Miguel Delibes is a public secondary school in the Community of Madrid located in the Ciudad Lineal district. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18) and presents itself as an inclusive, integrative, and demanding center, aimed at ensuring equal opportunities. Its facilities include a library, laboratory, auditorium, cafeteria, and school garden, and it offers extracurricular activities. It has a Virtual Classroom for students, with academic and professional guidance and information directed at families about the responsible use of technology.

The center participates in numerous projects. It belongs to the STEMadrid network of centers, which promotes scientific and technological skills, and is part of the Sustainable School Gardens Network, the network of Environmentally Sustainable Accredited Centers of the Madrid City Council, and the Sustainable Schools Network of the Community of Madrid, which promotes environmental action projects and an Environmental Action Plan. It is a Sports Institute of the Community of Madrid, offering swimming, field hockey, dance, and fitness, active recesses, and the celebration of the Delibes Olympics, and it is also a Promoter Institute of Physical Activity and Sport, with training on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and teams for futsal, volleyball, and basketball. Additionally, it is part of the European Parliament's Schools Ambassadors program and the AdF network, where it has built a future classroom following the European Future Classroom Lab model.

Among its own initiatives is the IES Miguel Delibes Choir, composed of teaching staff, students, and administrative and service personnel, which rehearses during recess and performs at the center's institutional events, as well as the Onda Delibes radio study, within the Future Classroom and linked to the School Radios Network Voces del Aula. Since 2025, the institute has been the headquarters of the Cumbres Libres Mountain Club of IES Miguel Delibes, whose objective is to promote the practice of mountaineering.
