Hogar Dolores Sopeña

The Escuela Infantil Nuestra Señora de los Dolores is a private center in Madrid, located in the Chamberí district, which was founded in 1970 as a kindergarten within a parish project. Since the year 2000, it has been part of the network of private centers supported by public funds from the Community of Madrid and is an authorized center by the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid, thus subject to educational and health controls. Over more than forty years, it has adapted its response to the educational needs of each moment. Currently, it caters to the first cycle of early childhood education, welcoming children from 0 to 3 years old.

Its educational project places the child at the center of their learning, with a specialized team in early childhood education and activities of a playful and experiential nature. The center places special importance on the relationship between family and school and promotes family participation in the activities carried out by the students. It also maintains collaboration agreements with schools in the area to facilitate access for those who have been students of the school.

Regarding its spaces, it has six spacious classrooms with natural lighting and ventilation: a baby classroom for 0 to 1 year old with differentiated areas for rest, hygiene, food, and activities; three classrooms for children aged 1 to 2 years and two classrooms for children aged 2 to 3 years, with independent restrooms, free play areas, and furniture adapted to the age. It has heating throughout the center and differentiated outdoor play areas, equipped with safety flooring in the baby zone, as well as doors equipped with locking systems. The school hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of extension from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM upon justification. The school also offers dining services, school transportation, early morning hours, and extracurricular activities.
