Escola de Tuixent - ZER Urgellet

The Escola de Tuixent is part of the ZER Urgellet and is a public center located in the municipality of Josa i Tuixén. It offers Early Childhood Education, with cycles from 0 to 3 years and from 3 to 6 years, and Primary Education, from 6 to 12 years, with a Spanish curriculum and Catalan as the language used in the center.

The educational project of the center focuses on the child as the protagonist of their own learning, on respect and listening within the educational community, and on the balance between the pedagogy of learning and emotions. The school maintains a constant relationship with its environment and takes advantage of outdoor spaces and the landscape of the area as part of daily activities, even in the winter months.

Throughout the school year, various activities and projects are developed: workshops and projects in the English language, robotics and programming work, theatrical performances created by the students themselves, celebrations such as Carnival, the creation of poems, and outings to the surroundings. The center also collaborates in initiatives of the municipality, such as the Trementinaires festival and proposals for ephemeral art using natural materials, and participates in meetings with other schools that are part of the ZER.
