About the school

CEIP Alcazaba is a public school in Granada that offers Early Childhood Education and Primary Education. Its educational community is defined as committed, collaborative, and united. The school maintains a blog that was created during the pandemic as a window from the school to homes and is now used to convey information from the school to families, who also receive communications through Ipasen. Among its services are the school cafeteria, the welcome classroom —also called the waiting classroom— which requires prior registration, and the morning classroom. Extracurricular activities start in October, such as multi-sport, modern dance, musical language for Early Childhood, English, and choir for Primary. The school has a conversation assistant and develops actions in the area of equality and emotional education.

The school organizes the entry and exit of students by stages, with differentiated lines and pick-up points and with the handover of students to authorized persons. It has protocols for rainy days, depending on their intensity, and for delays, which must be registered in the secretary's office and, when repeated, are considered absences and contrary to coexistence. It also has health protocols and protocols for high temperatures that are applied when circumstances require. Students from 3rd to 6th grade have access to loan books and a school agenda managed by the AMPA.

Frequently asked questions

The doors open at approximately 8:50. Each stage waits in designated lines or spaces: Preschool for 4 and 5 years old next to their classrooms, 1st and 2nd in their lines at the wall of the AMPA door, and from 3rd to 6th they go up the emergency stairs when the siren sounds, with teachers supervising.

Preschool students leave with their teacher at 13:55 and are handed over to families or authorized persons in the same place where they are picked up at entry. All Primary students leave with the teachers: 1st and 2nd in their lines and from 3rd to 6th go down the emergency stairs, in the playground.

With light or moderate rain, students wait under their umbrellas or under the porch and enter through the usual entrance. In case of heavy rain, all students enter through the main door and interior stairs, and exits are carried out from the inside, being handed over at the porch.

They must enter with the student and sign in the secretary's register, from where the secretary staff takes the child to class. Repeated lateness is considered absences and violations of coexistence.

They start in October. Fun multi-sport is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:00, modern dance on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:00 to 18:00, musical language for Preschool on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:00 to 18:00, fun English on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 17:00, and choir for Primary on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 18:00.

Families of 3-year-old Preschool students have a meeting on Monday, September 7 at 11:00. The rest of the courses will hold their meetings in October, and the date will be published as soon as possible.
