About the school

The Marionetas center is a public educational institution in Villalbilla, resulting from the collaboration between the Autonomous Community and the City Council. It serves the Early Childhood Education stage, with the first cycle (0-3) and second cycle (3-6), as well as Primary Education (6-12). It has a library, cafeteria, playground, and extracurricular activities, and operates in Spanish and English. The Casa de Niños develops an educational program that involves both students and the adults responsible for their education (mothers, fathers, grandparents, tutors, or caregivers). Its principles include education as a right for all children without discrimination, compensating for inequalities, integrating differences, and the holistic development of physical, emotional, intellectual, and social capacities. The aim is for children to build their own learning and for the educational process to open up to the cultural, social, and educational resources of the municipality.

The educational work complements that of families through experiences that promote self-knowledge, knowledge of others, objects, and the natural environment, the development of skills, and the acquisition of attitudes, habits, norms, and values. The participation and collaboration of parents is a priority objective and can be carried out directly or indirectly depending on their availability. Each group has an educator who helps children in building knowledge and organizes activities. The Casas de Niños are grouped into zones; the zone to which Marionetas belongs is coordinated by a director and also includes the Casa de Niños El Bosque Encantado, in Torres de la Alameda (headquarters), and the Casa de Niños El Sauce Llorón, in Corpa. Additionally, the center collaborates with the early attention team from Alcalá de Henares, made up of psychopedagogues, social workers, speech and language teachers, and support teachers, who guide the center and assist children with special educational needs and their families.
