Escola Doctor Joaquim Salarich

Escola Doctor Joaquim Salarich is a public school in Vic that provides early childhood and primary education, with Spanish and Catalan as languages of instruction. Among its services, it offers a school cafeteria and has a family association (AFA), a communication channel, blogs, and a school calendar. In early childhood education, the focus is on environments that encourage curiosity, manipulation, and free experimentation through play and interaction.

The center develops projects related to environmental education. It participates in the CARDIMED project by SeoBirdLife, a European initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience of Mediterranean territories, and the group of environmental delegates has conducted an assessment of the playground regarding temperature, water, and biodiversity. The World Environment Day is celebrated with activities for all grades, and Sant Jordi features literary and artistic proposals involving families. The playground, known as "el pati de les moreres", is the subject of a learning situation for its improvement, initiated by the visit of I5 students to Guixot de 8.

In the scientific and artistic field, the center participates in initiatives such as the La Ciència i els Infants contest, where the early childhood education team won second place with the proposal "Els colors de la Plana", awarded by Lab_06. The World School Mathematics Day is also celebrated, featuring the award ceremony for a mathematical photography contest, the kangaroo tests, and the Fem Matemàtiques contest, as well as the World Poetry Day, with selections of verses and reading spaces. Students engage in artistic outings, such as the second-grade visit to the Fundació Miró, excursions to explore the environment, like the Parc Natural de la Gola del Ter, and stays such as the learning camp for 4th grade in Alt Berguedà.
