About the school

The Seminario Menor de Valladolid is a diocesan educational community, established by the Bishop according to the norms of the Holy See, where compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18) are taught. It is a differentiated education center, only for boys, with small groups and personalized attention, combining the classic and the new, the blackboard and new technologies, Latin and English.

Its educational proposal seeks the integral development of the student in three dimensions: human, spiritual, and vocational. The human dimension offers the necessary competencies for academic training; the spiritual accompanies the Christian life through daily prayer, sacraments, catechesis groups, retreats, and community living; and the vocational helps to discover God's call. The student is the protagonist of their growth process, aimed at discovering their own aptitudes and limitations and learning to self-govern, with stimuli and support offered in a personalized manner.

The center offers assisted study in the afternoons, both in groups and individually, daily time dedicated to sports activities, and complementary training in behavior, household tasks, and choral singing. It has educational community living through two types of weekly boarding and explicitly proposes Christian life with prayer, sacraments, and spiritual accompaniment. Families are involved in the educational task, and the center offers support and training to parents.

Among the activities of the Colegio Seminario are end-of-year camps, kayaking outings, cultural excursions such as those to Atapuerca and Burgos, and the celebration of the feast of San José, the patron saint of the school, during which the grandparents of the students visit the center.
