Santa María La Real De Huelgas

Santa María La Real De Huelgas is a Catholic school open to all, located in Valladolid, whose educational proposal is inspired by the Cistercian spirit. Its training model is based on serenity, order, respect, listening, and quality work, with the aim of helping each student grow accompanied and in community. Education extends from 0 years to compulsory secondary education (ESO).

The project incorporates a multilingual program: from Primary to ESO, students learn in a bilingual Spanish-English environment, and French is introduced as a third language starting from 5th grade of Primary. This work is developed through active methodologies, projects, conversation assistants, and international activities. The school also provides a cafeteria service with its own kitchen, offering adapted and supervised meals, and an early morning service, with early reception starting from 7:45 AM.

In terms of student support, the school has educational attention for people with disabilities and specific support needs, coordinated between the psychopedagogical team and the teaching staff. At the end of 4th year of ESO, the guidance team assists students in choosing between Bachillerato, vocational training (FP), or professional pathways. The school also uses the Finca Monteclaro, provided by the nuns of the monastery, as a space for Christian and environmental training days, leisure, and recreation; it has a building with meeting rooms, cafeteria, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms, as well as an outdoor area with a swimming pool, garden, greenhouse, and pond with farm birds. School life is complemented with pastoral activities, sports, music, European projects, solidarity, and coexistence.
