Ceip Ballester Fandos

CEIP Ballester Fandos is a public educational center in València, located in the Poblats Marítims district. It offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years), Primary Education (6-12), and Secondary Education (12-16), and operates in Spanish and Valencian.

Its origins date back to the former special education center María Carbonell, in the Malva-rosa neighborhood, which today is the Universitat Popular de la Malva-rosa. In 1960, four teachers and the director formed the first staff of the Vicente Ballester Fandos School for girls, and years later three teachers and a director began to teach boys as well. The center is named after Vicente Ballester Fandos, known as the "Mestre del Cabanyal," born in Mascarell in 1857, who started his first school in the neighborhood and was a beloved and respected figure in the area.

Among its facilities, it has a courtyard that includes a rest area and spaces for students' sports activities. It also has an open classroom, an outdoor educational space where classes are held, meetings take place, and students play. Its walls feature murals that reflect the welcoming nature of the school and the cultural diversity of its students.
