Mare Natura is a private nursery school for the first cycle, authorized by the Department of Education, located in Tortosa. It caters to children from four months to three years, organized into three age groups. The group for 0 to 1 year has a warm and welcoming space. In the group for 1 to 2 years, activities are proposed for children to be creative, experiment, and create from recycled materials and natural elements. In the group for 2 to 3 years, environments of art, light, psychomotricity, and symbolic play are created, cooking workshops are held, and outings to Espai Natura are organized. The vehicular language is Catalan.
The educational project is based on an active methodology in which the child is the protagonist of their own learning, through projects, play, environments, outings, and habits and routines. Values such as respect, teamwork, creativity, routines, happiness, and peace are worked on, learned through imitation, and lived in a spontaneous and natural way. They educate with values because they want children to have a freer, fairer, and more democratic future. The school brings culture and traditions closer through projects and popular festivals such as Castanyada, Carnestoltes, or El Tió, so that children understand and know their roots. The team is made up of enthusiastic people from the child world who seek to awaken children's interest with innovative methods, stimulating them and offering them a curious view of the world. In addition, they collaborate and coordinate with entities and services in the educational, therapeutic, and training fields such as EAP, CDIAP, and CREDA.
The center has spacious and bright facilities in a privileged environment, with very open spaces and direct contact with nature. Mare Natura began its activity in 1997 in Tortosa, driven by Maria and Francis, two entrepreneurial sisters. Over more than twenty years, it has developed serious pedagogical work, personalized attention, and fluid and constant contact with families. The facilities were expanded in 2002 and 2006, and a second company dedicated to summer, Christmas, and Easter camps, Espai Alternatiu Natura, was created. In 2008, they suffered a fire, and they have also faced economic crises and difficult situations, which they have overcome with dedication and love for the children.
