Severo Ochoa

CEIP Severo Ochoa is a public center for Early Childhood and Primary Education located in Torrejón de Ardoz and affiliated with the EducaMadrid network of the Community of Madrid. It offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years) and Primary Education (6-12 years), with Spanish and English as the languages present in its teaching. Among its facilities, it has a library and a school garden, and it has a digitalization plan for the center.

The center offers a school cafeteria, with published menus, and a breakfast service, as well as extended hours in June and September. Extracurricular activities are organized through the AMPA. Among its initiatives are robotics, storytelling, reading projects, and a chess tournament. It is identified as a STEMadrid Center of the Community and celebrates a Science Week in which Primary students present research and experiments on food, with workshops and presentations aimed at different educational levels.

Students participate in outings and complementary activities to places such as Faunia, the municipal library Federico García Lorca, the Environmental Center El Caserío del Henares, Arqueopinto, the Archaeological Museum, the El Rodeo farm, and the Senda de Buitrago de Lozoya. Throughout the school year, events are held, including the Book Week with shared readings among students of different levels, International Women's Day, San Isidro, and the end-of-year party.
