About the school

C.P.E.E. Arboleda is a public Special Education school located in Teruel. Its educational offer includes Early Childhood Education in the first cycle (0-3 years) and in the second cycle (3-6 years, with the possibility of staying until 7), the Compulsory Basic Education (EBO), which serves children from 6 to 16 years old and allows continuation until 18, the Transition to Adult Life (TVA), from 16 to 20 years with extraordinary stay until 21, and the P.C.I., aimed at students aged 16 to 21 over two courses.

The center has EBO and TVA classrooms, as well as specific classrooms for psychomotricity, music, and hearing and language. The staff includes teachers specialized in Therapeutic Pedagogy, Hearing and Language, Music, and Physical Education, as well as technical teachers for Vocational Training, educational and psychopedagogical guidance, and a Community Services teacher. The complementary educational support staff consists of physiotherapists, nurses, an educator, Special Education assistants, and Nursing Auxiliary Care technicians, while the administrative and service staff includes an administrative officer, kitchen staff, a maintenance officer, auxiliary service staff, and specialized domestic service personnel. Although not part of the staff, a Therapeutic Pedagogy teacher intervenes for a few hours weekly, through an agreement, to support students with visual disabilities, along with dining monitors. The center implemented a school time modification project starting from the 2017/2018 school year, which was consolidated from the 2020/2021 school year.

Throughout the school year, activities such as visits to the public library, to the Local Police and its museum, and outings to Dornaque on Family Day are developed. Among its initiatives are school cooperatives like Ecoleda and Cocoar, a market under the slogan "Learning to undertake" and a health week in collaboration with Adecco, as well as drawing contests and end-of-year celebrations.
