Institut Can Jofresa

Institut Can Jofresa is a public secondary school in Terrassa that provides compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). The school has an AFA and offers information about scholarships and financial aid for students with specific educational support needs as well as for post-compulsory studies.

Throughout the school year, students participate in various complementary activities. The students in 3rd year of ESO attend English film sessions in original version with subtitles, while those in 2nd year of ESO have visited the Museu de les Matemàtiques de Catalunya. Mathematical days are also organized with games and challenges for 1st and 2nd year of ESO, and a solar workshop where 2nd year of ESO students build a model house with solar panels. Among the outings are recreational and sports activities, such as rowing and archery practice at the Canal Olímpic de Castelldefels.

In the area of projects, the school participates in the First Lego League of robotics with volunteer teams from 4th year of ESO, in the selective battery collection contest Apilo XII, and in the Erasmus program, with some of its students attending the Campus Ítaca at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The students of 4th year of ESO take a final stage trip to Italy. The Sant Jordi celebration is held with the institute's literary games, performances, recitals, and the awarding of literary and photography prizes. The school also has extracurricular football teams, in both male and female categories, that compete in the school league.
