Escola Les Arenes

Escola Les Arenes has a Parents' Association (AFA) made up of the families of the center, whose purpose is to contribute to a more participatory, inclusive school that is open to the needs of its community. The association collaborates with the school and other entities in the environment to promote activities, services, and projects that complement the educational project and favor the well-being of children and their families.

Among its objectives are to support families, teachers, and students in the education of children, promote family participation in the life and management of the center, and represent them in governing bodies, especially in the School Council. It is also responsible for organizing and managing services and activities that contribute to family reconciliation, such as morning reception, extracurricular activities for children, the cafeteria, summer camps, activities and workshops for family members, cultural days, family gatherings, and game days, workshops, and outreach talks.

The AFA is organized through a Board of Directors — consisting of a president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary — and commissions and working groups made up of volunteers. It holds family assemblies where the association's work is shared and joint decisions are made, and it networks with associations and entities such as La Pepeta and AFFAC. Associated families formalize their registration and pay an annual fee, and have the right to participate and vote in general assemblies and to be part of the projects, commissions, and activities of the association.
