Mare Nostrum

Mare Nostrum is a private educational center located in Tarragona. It offers early childhood education, primary education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). The languages present at the center are Spanish, Catalan, and English. It provides dining services, school transportation, and extracurricular activities, as well as midday activities. It has a family association (AFA).

The educational project of the center defines the general objectives and guides educational activity, the collaboration of the different members of the educational community, and the relationship with the environment. It includes the criteria, priorities, and methodological approaches, that is, what and how is taught and how student progress is evaluated. It also includes priority objectives, the comprehensive education of students, and other educational spaces. The project has the approval of the School Council.

Among the aspects it addresses are the methodological line, the coexistence plan, the tutorial action plan, language treatment, attention to diversity, and digital competence. The pedagogical projects of the center include promoting a love for reading, learning and innovation, competitions and culture, physical activity, preparation for the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, a peer mediation program, and the Mare Nostrum Outdoor project.
