Escola Marià Fortuny

Escola Marià Fortuny is a public center in Reus that offers the second cycle of early childhood education and primary education, with students organized into small, medium, and large groups. The center has a laboratory designed as a space for exploration and discovery around the natural and scientific world, where topics such as the environment, the human body, or animal life are explored, and features a renaturalized playground that has been incorporated as an additional educational space, expanding learning environments and allowing experiences in contact with nature.

Among its projects and activities, the school develops the Espai Ganxet, an interdisciplinary learning space that draws from the local environment of Reus, its traditions, and its prominent figures, dedicated at this stage to Antoni Gaudí. It also uses the cursa d'orientació as an educational tool, combining learning, physical activity, and discovery of the environment, and works on oral tradition in early childhood education through popular songs, cantarelles, and games. Additionally, it addresses phonological awareness as a pathway to reading, proposes activities that combine yoga and psychomotricity, and participates in the School Olympics of Reus.

The center participates in mobilities and Erasmus+ projects, including the Robots Meet Arts project and job shadowing experiences, and develops initiatives such as the project on sustainable and responsible fashion. The public information of the center includes services, as well as the start-of-year letter and calendar for families of early childhood and primary education.
