Institut Estany De La Ricarda

Institut Estany de la Ricarda is a public secondary school in El Prat de Llobregat that offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). Through the AFA, the Sorell project of socialized books is managed, which aims to reduce family expenses and promote the reuse of textbooks throughout the compulsory secondary education stage. The center participates in the Connexions project of El Prat, where Bachillerato students from local institutes share reflective works and translate them into creative projects such as short films. Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, the fourth-year ESO students have designed and tested a smart guiding cane linked to SDG 10, aimed at promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities for people with disabilities or functional diversity. It also participates in the NeuroArt project, where schools in Catalonia work on neuroscientific concepts through the creation of artistic works, with contributions from visual and plastic arts students in fourth-year ESO.

The institute has a STEM classroom dedicated to computational thinking, programming, robotics, and digital fabrication, equipped with materials acquired thanks to the Código Escuela 4.0 program. Additionally, it organizes open house days to introduce its educational project to families, both for the ESO stage and for the Bachillerato stage.
