Institut De Pineda De Mar

Institut de Pineda de Mar is a public secondary school in Pineda de Mar. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), with Spanish and Catalan as the languages of instruction. In 2nd and 3rd year of ESO, students take elective subjects, which are chosen through a form indicating their preferences.

Throughout the school year, synthesis projects are developed at different levels: 1st year of ESO in Porqueres, 2nd year of ESO in the Vall de Núria and the municipality of Queralbs, and 3rd year of ESO in Bellcaire d'Empordà. These projects include recreational-sporting and educational activities and culminate in oral presentations before panels. Students in 4th year of ESO perform community service, which concludes with a closing event, and the school celebrates the graduation ceremony for 2nd year of Bachillerato. The welcoming classroom has maintained a letter and experience exchange with Institut Euclides, which concluded with an in-person meeting among students.

The school has an extracurricular volleyball team that participates in the Regional School League, and students in 1st and 2nd year of ESO participate in sports days, featuring alternative sports and beach volleyball. The Tour de Mates is also conducted, a mental calculation project with resources and a competition, and students take Cambridge exams. In the digital realm, the school has digital books and a digital strategy, and uses Clickedu for management and communication with families. Additionally, families can check the classroom temperature in real-time through the initiative Aules que cremen.
