Cee El Pontarró

The CEE El Pontarró is a public special education center located in Martorell (Barcelona). It provides education to students of different stages, including secondary education. Its origins date back to the creation, in 1969, of the Escola d'Educació Especial Mare de Déu del Pontarró, which was the first public special education school in Catalonia. The name of the center comes from a Gothic carving of the Mare de Déu that, according to legend, was found in Martorell, near a small wooden bridge in the raval del Pontarró.

Secondary students engage in activities such as theatrical performances and scientific projects; at the Science Congress, they present their experiments, including the creation of volcanoes to observe and understand how eruptions occur. The center offers a cafeteria service, with published menus, and has school transport routes. It also provides families with the school calendar and a resource bank.

The center's website contains information for families and features a radio and podcast section, as well as videos of the activities carried out. The center maintains a presence on social media and has an AFA (association of families of students). The motto of the course is nature. On the other hand, the teaching team and educational support staff have joined the demands of the educational centers in Martorell, and until an agreement is reached with the Department, no outings are made outside of school hours.
