Escola Sant Ignasi

Escola Sant Ignasi is a public school located in Manresa, offering Early Childhood Education (first cycle, from 0 to 3 years, and second cycle, from 3 to 6 years) and Primary Education (from 6 to 12 years), with Catalan as the language of instruction.

Its educational project places students at the center of their own learning, focusing on personalization and support. The model is structured around globalized learning, connecting what is done in the classroom with real life, and distributed leadership among the teaching staff. The school works from the axis of doing, thinking, and communicating: students' interests and motivations are respected to stimulate the desire to learn, experimentation and reflection are encouraged to strengthen critical thinking, and what has been learned is communicated to raise awareness of the process. The CAUS help reinforce that critical thinking through experimentation and reflection, and the strategies enhance autonomy, teamwork, and personal initiative. Project-based work allows for interdisciplinary and globalized learning.

Among the school's projects, it participates in the Florence Program from the Department of Education for the improvement of mathematics, which is learned by solving real-life problems, researching, and experimenting through inclusive activities. It also prioritizes oral language, especially Catalan, as the foundation for other learning, linked to project work. Families play an active role through initiatives such as Cautiva't, classroom activities, the Fira de Projectes, the Pati Obert, and the AFA. The school has rich and natural outdoor spaces as a source of resources, learning, play, and discovery, and develops its own Digital Strategy for the digital competence of teachers and students.
