About the school

Vedruna School is a semi-private institution located in the Villaverde district of Madrid. It offers early childhood education (ages 3-6), primary education (ages 6-12), compulsory secondary education (ages 12-16), Bachillerato (ages 16-18), and vocational training (FP). Its educational proposal is inspired by the Gospel and the figure of its founder, Joaquina de Vedruna, and is defined as a family-oriented, joyful, and transformative school, with the individual at the center of comprehensive education.

The center's project encompasses various areas. Inclusive education aims to leave no one behind and places students at the center of learning, while Christian education supports the holistic development of students through the Pastoral project, with morning prayer as a moment of introspection and reflection. Ecological education is articulated through the EcoVedruna project, linked to the global educational pact and the millennium goals, and focuses on environmental care through the three Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Innovative education incorporates active and digital methodologies, promotes teamwork, and enhances language skills; in early childhood education, tablets are used in a guided manner, and a conversation assistant is available to reinforce English.

In the early childhood education stage, learning is supported by play, experimentation, and the child's activity, with project-based learning and cooperative work, and it addresses physical, sensory, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development. The center offers a cafeteria, extracurricular activities, and morning classes, as well as an early risers service, extended hours, school transport, and a psycho-pedagogical office. It complements education with school outings and promotes healthy habits through healthy and varied breakfasts, and provides guidance to students. It uses the Alexia platform.
