Villa De Vallecas

IES Villa de Vallecas is a public institute in the Community of Madrid, located in the Villa de Vallecas district. It offers Compulsory Secondary Education, with students aged between 12 and 16 years, and the languages taught at the center are Spanish, English, and French. It holds the Erasmus+ accreditation, which supports its participation in European programs.

Among its services and initiatives, the center has a cafeteria, whose hiring process opens periodically. Throughout the school year, it organizes an open house coinciding with the admission process, as well as a coexistence day with special educational activities. It also develops awareness workshops aimed at families as part of the Regional Plan against Drugs. The center starts the school year with a welcome focused on 1st-year ESO students and provides families with information about the class schedule, textbooks, and a Digital Center Project aimed at meeting European digital standards. It has a Parents' Association and communication channels that allow reading messages from teachers and management, checking grades, and justifying absences.

Its educational project is structured around a series of values: democratic behavior, with participation from all members of the educational community and respect for coexistence rules; equality, through activities that value diversity and reject discrimination; sustainability, through the three Rs (reduce, recycle, and reuse), responsible consumption, and healthy eating; and autonomy, promoting critical thinking. Among its priorities are educating in a model of positive coexistence based on equality and inclusion, offering teaching supported by pedagogical methods and complementary and extracurricular activities, encouraging student and family participation with the aim of being a cultural reference in the district, and developing sensitivity towards environmental protection. The center seeks collaboration with entities and institutions in the educational and cultural fields, such as the Municipal Board, universities in the Community of Madrid, schools and libraries in the district, health centers, sports complexes, neighborhood associations, and local media.
