El Espinillo

IES El Espinillo is a public secondary school in Madrid, located in the Usera district, offering compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18) in the modalities of Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities, in the morning schedule. Among its teachings, it also includes vocational training (FP) programs at the intermediate and higher levels. The school works to ensure that students can pursue the education that meets their needs, offering English among its languages, as well as lunch and school transport services.

The institute develops various center projects aimed at enriching the teaching and learning process, in which teachers and students collaborate. Its educational project is based on its own principles, values, and identity markers, and it has a Coexistence Plan and educational organizational and conduct rules aimed at maintaining a climate of respect, responsibility, and effort. In addition to the extracurricular activities proposed by the teaching departments, the center schedules complementary activities that broaden students' education, such as sports and reinforcement proposals.

In the day-to-day operations of the center, online tools such as email, the Virtual Classroom, and the Raíces platform are used, and the website features a bulletin board with academic news. Students can be assessed through external tests, including the University Access Evaluation process (EVAU) or tests proposed by the Community of Madrid.
