Carricoche

Carricoche is a public educational center located in Madrid, in the Usera district, that provides the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years). Its methodological approach is based on the interests, needs, and characteristics of the students, offering varied experiences that stimulate their physical, mental, emotional, and social development.

The involvement of families is essential, considering them an active part of the educational activity. The educator acts according to three axes: ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the child by respecting their signals (hunger, thirst, fear) and anticipating actions so that they are not intrusive; proposing suitable play activities, organizing the space according to the developmental stage, observing to assess progress, and providing emotional support with a calm attitude that fosters autonomy; and facilitating conditions for free and autonomous movement, without unnecessary intervention, allowing the child to adopt and abandon postures by themselves.

Regarding relational play proposals, the center designs environments that reflect ideas, pleasant and cared-for spaces that promote physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. These spaces adapt to the moment of the course and the children's needs, and interactions occur with oneself, with peers, and with materials. Play is fundamental, with pre-symbolic play and "as if" play observed, which gives meaning and helps internalize vital processes. It is a refuge where the capacities to discover being and existing in life are developed.
