Juan de Valdés School is a semi-private center located in the San Blas – Las Rosas neighborhood of Madrid. It offers educational continuity from early childhood education to Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), the latter stage incorporated since the 2023-24 academic year. Its educational project is organized around five pillars: life skills, international projection, science, technology and sustainability, sports and healthy habits, and personalized education. The center defines itself as an educational community oriented towards the integral development of its members.
Project-Based Learning articulates the center's methodology, which promotes curiosity, creativity, and the connection between knowledge. Scientific and technological thinking is developed from early childhood education to Bachillerato through STEAM projects, such as Funtastic Science in early childhood education and tools like Scratch and Bebras in primary education, in addition to an interdisciplinary STEAM Week. In the emotional and personal sphere, the school develops experiential projects and workshops to recognize and express emotions, individual support programs, and the Mediation Program, in which students participate in the peaceful resolution of conflicts. It has a Guidance Department and educational plans that cover, among others, tutorial action, attention to diversity, academic and professional guidance, emotional intelligence, promotion of reading, innovation, information and communication technologies, mediation and coexistence, solidarity, extracurricular activities, and the multilingual sphere.
The center provides trilingual education with a bilingual project. In early childhood education, all areas are taught in English, and in primary education, the subjects of Artistic Education, Physical Education, and Natural Sciences are focused on that language, with the support of conversation assistants. Upon finishing primary education, students obtain their first official qualifications from the University of Cambridge (PET, FCE, and CAE) and are prepared to participate in educational projects with other European schools and exchanges with students from other countries. The center is part of the BEDA initiative and has been officially recognized as a bilingual center in primary education and secondary education. Its facilities include a library, laboratory, computer room, gym, and playground, and it offers cafeteria service, school transport, and extracurricular activities.
Tuition is free in the state-funded stages. The school may ask for voluntary contributions and charge for services such as lunch.
