Primero De Mayo

The CES y FP 1º de Mayo is a semi-private center located in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid, which is part of the José María de Llanos Foundation. This foundation has its origins in the 1950s and was established with the purpose of offering the residents of Vallecas, El Pozo, and Entrevías, especially the youth, new opportunities for training, education, and social and labor inclusion. The center provides compulsory secondary education (ESO), Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), and vocational training (FP), with basic and intermediate vocational training cycles. It has its own admission processes for each stage.

With over 60 years of experience, the center offers innovative, democratic, and secular education for both men and women, supporting their life projects as citizens of the world. Its identity features include transparency, effectiveness, and responsibility as pillars of coordination, management, and governance; tolerance and respect for diversity, without tolerating discriminatory behaviors based on sex, race, color, ethnic or social origin, disability, sexual orientation, language, religion, or political beliefs; democratic principles based on the participation of the entire school community; effective equality between women and men, within the framework of a feminist foundation; cooperation and collaboration; social commitment to the environment; and environmental values and practices.

Regarding the results, according to the impact data from 2022, 85% of the students were promoted, 82% graduated, and 81% of the vocational training students received training in work centers.
