About the school

Colegio Nuestra Señora de Moratalaz is a Catholic diocesan semi-private school located in the Madrid district of Moratalaz. It was founded in 1962 as a service of the Parish of Nuestra Señora de Moratalaz and is part of the network of Infant Schools and Diocesan Colleges of Madrid, whose governing body is the Archdiocese of Madrid. It offers Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Compulsory Secondary Education. It is a one-line center, with one classroom per level, defined by integral, open, personalized, and critical education, accessible to all and oriented towards the development of all dimensions of the person in a family environment.

In Early Childhood Education, learning starts from experiences close to the students and is approached through globalized activities, with play, psychomotricity, and stories as fundamental tools; the center has a psychomotricity room. The methodology, common to the different stages, includes project work, learning corners, cooperative learning, routines and thinking skills, and comprehension projects, along with complementary activities. Tutorial action is concretized in quarterly, group, and individual meetings with families, and in their participation through coffee talks and workshops organized in the classroom.

The center has a Guidance Department formed by professionals in Psychology and Pedagogy — counselor, compensatory teacher, and Therapeutic Pedagogy faculty — who carry out advisory, guidance, and intervention tasks, develop the Tutorial Action Plan, and coordinate psychopedagogical evaluation and academic and professional guidance. Since the 2021/22 school year, it has a specific classroom for students with ASD as a preferred center. It offers dining services, English, and extracurricular activities, as well as a virtual visit accessible from computer, tablet, or mobile and compatible with virtual reality glasses, and a digital access platform for the educational community.
