Madres Concepcionistas School, located in the Moncloa-Aravaca district of Madrid, is a semi-private center linked to the Concepcionistas Misioneras de la Enseñanza. It offers early childhood education, which includes a 2-year-old classroom, primary education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). It has over 125 years of experience in training individuals.
Its educational project is supported by a long history of research in active methodologies and draws references from pedagogies such as Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, or Rebeca Wild, from which it has developed its own approach. A respectful pedagogy is promoted that attends to the rhythms of each student through systematic observation by educators, without comparing children to one another. In early childhood education, curiosity and creative thinking are enhanced in prepared learning environments; in primary education, this experience is continued, and a taste for reading and the arts, oratory, communication in English, sports practice, logical-mathematical thinking, research through observation and data analysis, critical thinking, and creation are worked on. In compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato, emphasis is placed on critical and reflective thinking, on learning linked to the student's context, and on preparing for entrance exams for higher studies.
The center's offer includes Dual Bachillerato, which allows obtaining the degree from the country of origin and the American one simultaneously; specific programs for High Performance Training; and an early detection program for students with high abilities. The international dimension is addressed through the learning of other languages. The project incorporates education in values from an academic, human, and Christian perspective, as well as a Guidance Program. It has a cafeteria with a daily menu and extracurricular activities, and organizes open house days and the Summer Concepcionista program. Among its facilities are a chapel, an auditorium, a playground, and a children's park, and the center is accessible by public transport.
Tuition is free in the state-funded stages. The school may ask for voluntary contributions and charge for services such as lunch.
