Las Viñas

Las Viñas is a public early childhood education center integrated into the Network of Early Childhood Schools of the Madrid City Council. It is located in the Aravaca neighborhood, within the Moncloa-Aravaca district, and opened its doors for the first time in March 2004. It serves the first cycle of Early Childhood Education, with classrooms distributed by age levels: two for the 0 to 1-year group, three for the 1 to 2-year group, and three for the 2 to 3-year group, totaling eight classrooms. It has a stable team whose main objective is the well-being of children and their families, in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Its educational project is based on four pillars. The first is the children, the protagonists of their own growth adventure and recognized as subjects with rights. The second is the families, whom the school supports in their parenting tasks and recognizes as the first and primary educational and socializing agents. The third is the professionals who work at the center. The fourth is the environment: a school that interacts with the neighborhood, promotes actions for environmental care, and participates in programs such as Educate Today for a More Sustainable Madrid, the School Gardens Network, and an intergenerational program.

Among its facilities are three gardens, one for each age level, the school garden with an insect hotel and fruit trees, a library, a creativity workshop, and a psychomotricity room that, due to its size, is also used as a multipurpose space for parties and theater. The center has a cafeteria and extended hours: the general schedule is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the extension covers from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
