About the school

Colegio Santa Gema Galgani is a semi-private bilingual school in Madrid, located in the Latina district, defined by an inspiration in humanist values and the goal for each student to give meaning to their own life and be able to face change. Its educational proposal spans from the early years to Bachillerato: Santa Gemita (1 and 2 years), Early Childhood Education (3 to 5 years), Primary Education, Secondary Education, and Bachillerato.

In the initial stages, the school works on autonomy and early stimulation in a safe environment, with constant communication with families, emotional management, and psychomotor development through neuromotor activities and swimming from the age of two. The methodology is supported by project-based learning, sensory workshops, play facilities, corner work, manipulative mathematics, and literacy experiences; in this age range, native English and music assistants are incorporated. In Early Childhood, the learning rhythms of each student are respected, combining play, observation, and experimentation with bilingual learning as a pedagogical pillar. In Primary Education, the school focuses on competencies such as logical and critical thinking, problem-solving, oral and written expression, and reading, with interdisciplinary projects and activities in both Spanish and English.

In Secondary Education, the Personal Student Plan ensures individualized follow-up: in the early years, tutors dedicate weekly hours to individual interviews in addition to group tutorials, and in the later years, an additional hour is added to promote autonomy. Students use a Learning Diary to set, evaluate, and reflect on their goals. The Guidance Department supports students throughout this stage and guides them towards higher education and the professional world, and the school promotes a Family School. In Bachillerato, each student has a mentor who accompanies them individually and conducts a Research Project.

The school promotes an immersion environment in English for the development of linguistic competence and articulates its ideology around commitment, teamwork, collaboration with families, spirituality, and emotional education. It has 10,000 m² of sports facilities and a laboratory where experiments are conducted, such as calculating the speed of light.
