Eijo Y Garay

IES Eijo y Garay is a public secondary education institute that offers ESO and Bachillerato and has a Spanish-English Bilingual Program. The center also participates in the IPAFD program.

Among its initiatives, the institute is part of the European Parliament Ambassador Schools and has launched an information point about the European Parliament and the European Union created by the students themselves, with the aim of bringing European institutions closer to the educational community. Additionally, first-year Technology and Engineering students in Bachillerato participate in the CanSat challenge, an educational initiative by the European Space Agency where students build a mini satellite the size of a soda can. The institute also works on restorative practices through dialogue circles and restorative conversations in the classroom. Within the Órbita Project, of a cinematic nature, students from the Link Classroom and first-year ESO in the English section have conducted an audiovisual workshop and visited the facilities of ECAM in Ciudad de la Imagen.

First-year Bachillerato students participate in the Community of Madrid School Debate Tournament, an academic debate competition aimed at developing argumentation skills, information analysis, oral expression, and teamwork. The center commemorates Children's Rights Day with activities such as creating a tree of rights, made by students with the collaboration of the Plastic Arts Department, and organizes the EijoVision contest with different categories. Furthermore, it holds open house days for interested families.
