Blas De Otero

IES Blas de Otero is a public secondary school in Madrid that presents itself as a bilingual center. Its educational offer includes compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), and includes a Compensatory Education Classroom.

Among its facilities are a laboratory and an auditorium, the stage for activities such as performances by the school band for families and friends. The school also has a library, where the return of books from the ACCEDE program is organized, and offers complementary services, programs, and its own projects, a coexistence plan, and complementary and extracurricular activities. Teaching is organized into departments: Complementary and Extracurricular Activities, Biology and Geology, Drawing, Economics, Physical Education, Physics and Chemistry, Philosophy, French, Geography and History, English, Latin and Greek, Spanish Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Guidance, Religion, and Technology. The school participates in a student exchange with Hamburg.

The school provides families with information about the schedule and school calendar, evaluation sessions and report card distribution, grading criteria, procedures for recovering pending subjects, academic guidance, the educational project, and complementary services, as well as information about scholarships, aids, and textbooks through its secretary's office.
