Patrocinio De Maria

Colegio Patrocinio de María is a semi-private school in Madrid, located in the Hortaleza district and affiliated with the Congregation of the Daughters of the Sponsorship of Mary. Its activity dates back to 1983, when it started as a nursery with two preschool classrooms funded by the MEC to meet the educational needs of the Hortaleza neighborhood, which was then mainly inhabited by working-class families. It later became a center for Early Childhood Education and Basic General Education. Currently, its offerings include Early Childhood Education (first and second cycle), Primary Education, and Compulsory Secondary Education.

The educational project places the student at the center of their own learning through active methodologies, cooperative work, project-based learning, and the development of multiple intelligences, along with the ABN method in mathematics. Training in human-Christian values is part of its proposal. In Early Childhood Education, active, playful, and practical learning is sought with positive pedagogy and family participation, while in Primary Education, cooperative techniques, project work, and emotional and social education programs are applied. The center implemented bilingualism from the Community of Madrid in the 2019-2020 school year, starting with the third year of Early Childhood Education, with native conversation assistants in all classrooms of this stage.

The school hours are from 9:00 to 12:30 and from 14:30 to 16:30 from October to May, and from 9:00 to 13:00 in June and September. The school has a dining room with a menu, library, gym, sports hall, computer room, and playground, as well as extracurricular activities, uniform service, AMPA, virtual classroom, and virtual tour. Its language offerings include Spanish and English.
