Luis Cernuda

The CEIPSO Bilingüe Luis Cernuda is a public educational center located in the Hortaleza district of Madrid. It provides bilingual education in Spanish and English and offers the stages of Early Childhood Education (second cycle, from 3 to 6 years), Primary Education (from 6 to 12 years), and Compulsory Secondary Education (from 12 to 16 years). It has a cafeteria service and extracurricular activities. The center is configured as CEIPSO, after expanding its offer to the first cycle of the secondary education stage.

The center has its own educational project and a defined methodological line, with a focus on supporting students. It participates in the Zero Waste Program. In 2023, the access to the center was the scene of an artistic intervention by the collective Boa Mistura, as part of Bloomberg Philanthropies' Asphalt Art program, with the participation of the educational community, reclaiming a space for co-educational and play uses. Additionally, the center has a space called 'Secret Garden' in its courtyard, for which improvements to the irrigation system have been approved, and the creation of a collaborative mural on the exterior wall has been projected, with the design to be chosen by the students. The center celebrated its 50th anniversary with the recording of a collaborative lipdub. For the next academic year, a second line has been granted in the 3-year-old Early Childhood Education classroom.
