Juan Zaragueta

CEIP Juan Zaragüeta is a publicly owned center located in the Hortaleza district of Madrid, offering Early Childhood Education (3-6 years) and Primary Education (6-12 years). The Ministry of Education has granted the center the implementation of 1st and 2nd year of ESO starting from the 2026/27 school year and onwards, so it will operate as CEIPSO. Teaching is conducted in Spanish, with English, and the center provides a dining service.

Its educational project is based on active and innovative methodologies that place students at the center of the learning process and aim to instill democratic values, effort, respect, and coexistence. In Early Childhood Education, it develops the "Screen Free" project, which eliminates screens in classrooms for 3 and 4-year-olds and gradually introduces devices in the 5-year level; in Primary Education, a careful and progressive technology usage itinerary is followed. In Early Childhood, computational thinking and robotics are worked on with "Truetrue" devices, while in Primary, projects are developed with various technological platforms and with iPads in the future classroom.

The center's facilities are characterized by their spacious and open areas, which contribute to creating a calm atmosphere that favors coexistence and study, and include a climbing wall and a library space. The center applies the protocol of the Regional Plan against drugs of the Community of Madrid, implemented since the 2024/2025 school year, in situations of possible risk, suspicion, or evidence of consumption.
