Colegio Academia Alfer

Formación Alfer is a private educational center based in Pontevedra, active since 1994 and dedicated to accredited vocational training. It holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality certificates and the official accreditations that regulate each sector in which it provides teaching. A significant portion of its courses are eligible for funding for companies through FUNDAE, and it also offers free and subsidized courses, including those for unemployed individuals.

Its training offer is organized into several professional areas. In maritime training, it offers STCW courses accredited by the DGMM, with professional titles, specialty certificates, and updates every five years, aimed at sailors, skippers, officers, and deck and engine personnel. In recreational boating, it covers qualifications such as Navigation License, PNB, PER, Yacht Skipper, and Yacht Captain, with official exams and mandatory practicals. In private security, it prepares the TIP accredited by the Ministry of the Interior and specialties such as security guard, private escort, rural guard, and maritime hunting and fishing guard. It also provides occupational risk prevention and industrial safety (working at heights, confined spaces, and electrical risks), welding in MIG, MAG, TIG, and electrode modalities with workshop practices, competitive exams, and various professional licenses, such as food handler, forklift operator, phytosanitary, overhead crane, truck crane, or CAP, with weekly calls.

The center has five locations in Spain and its own training center in Arcade (Pontevedra), with a 600 m² building and 4,000 m² outdoors for real practices, where STCW maritime training, welding, and forklift practices are developed. Additionally, it uses mobile units equipped to provide in-company training in any city in the country and offers an online support platform to consult the material for in-person courses.
