Joaquín Turina

IES Joaquín Turina is a public center dependent on the Community of Madrid, located in the Chamberí district. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO), with all four courses, and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). It presents itself under the motto "Because you want to learn" and its teaching is offered in Spanish and English. The center also provides a cafeteria service, school transport, and extracurricular activities.

Regarding its facilities, it has 26 group classrooms, two laboratories (Physics and Chemistry, and Biology and Geology), two multipurpose classrooms, three computer classrooms, a technology workshop classroom, an art classroom, and a music classroom. Among the sports facilities are sports courts and a gym, as well as a football field and an athletics track. It also has a library with 35 reading spots, three computers, and lending service, an auditorium with a capacity for 110 seats equipped with a stage and audiovisual material, and a cafeteria.

All spaces of the institute, such as classrooms, workshops, auditorium, library, gym, teachers' room, teaching departments, and offices, have at least one wired network outlet for Internet access, and the center has wifi connection as part of the Connected Schools program. Classrooms are equipped with projection projectors and computers, as well as digital screens (interactive digital panels), and the center has three carts of laptops, two 3D printers, and various robotics kits based on Arduino, Lego, and BQ. The school hours run from 08:25 to 15:30, while the center remains open from 08:20 to 21:00.
