Dolores Rodriguez Sopena

La Escuela Infantil Nuestra Señora de los Dolores is a private parish project center located in the Chamberí district of Madrid. It was launched in 1970 as a kindergarten for children aged 2 to 6 years, and since 2000, it has been part of the network of private centers funded with public funds by the Community of Madrid. Currently, it educates children aged 0 to 3 years, thus covering the first cycle of early childhood education. It is an authorized center by the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid, with center code 28008259, and is subject to the corresponding educational and health controls.

Throughout its history, the center has adapted its response to the educational needs of each moment. Its educational project places the child as the protagonist of their own learning, with a specialized team in early childhood education and activities of a playful and experiential nature. The school considers it essential to maintain a close relationship with families and to count on their participation in the activities carried out by the students. Additionally, it maintains collaboration agreements with schools in the area to facilitate access for those who have been students of the center.

Regarding its spaces, it has six spacious classrooms with natural lighting and ventilation: one for babies aged 0 to 1 year, with differentiated areas for rest, hygiene, food, and activities; three for children aged 1 to 2 years, and two for children aged 2 to 3 years, the latter with independent toilets, a free play area, and furniture adapted to the age. It has heating throughout the building, differentiated outdoor play patios — with safety flooring in the baby area — and doors with locking systems. The school hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of extending from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM upon justification.
