About the school
The CREI Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is a public secondary education center of regional scope in the Community of Madrid, functionally attached to the Madrid-Capital Territorial Area Directorate and dependent on the Ministry of Education and Youth. It arises from a collaboration agreement between the administration of Justice and the educational administration to provide a joint response to juvenile offenders who cannot attend an ordinary educational resource. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18).
The center has several different locations where it carries out its teaching work: five in Madrid capital and one in the town of Brea de Tajo, which is the largest and where 80% of the students, teachers, and vacancies of the CREI are concentrated. Students may be distributed across several of these centers. Its headquarters is located in the Carabanchel district of Madrid, and since July 2025 it has changed location. The center has a digital plan and participates in the PROA+ program.
