It provides Compulsory Basic Education (EBO), a mandatory stage that is attended between the ages of 6 and 16 and is organized into ten courses. Its purpose is the comprehensive development of students, both personally and academically, working on key competencies to navigate real-life situations.
The educational project of the center is based on a person-centered methodology that addresses the uniqueness of each student and adjusts to their needs, interests, abilities, and learning style through an individualized plan. Among its objectives are the acquisition of alternative and augmentative communication systems, body awareness and self-image, and participation in activities in the environment, as well as caring for emotional and physical well-being in a safe and respectful environment. The center has lines of work such as self-awareness and personal autonomy, knowledge and relationship with the environment, and communication and expression, and develops programs for daily living autonomy, communication, positive behavioral support, and multisensory stimulation. It also organizes complementary activities integrated into the curriculum, such as outings, excursions, visits to museums, theater, concerts, and celebrations of festivities.
The center offers free school meal services, with a nutritionist and its own kitchen; physiotherapy, with individual and flexible sessions aimed at improving mobility, balance, coordination, strength, and posture; animal-assisted therapy; and psychology services, which focus on emotional well-being, self-esteem, self-determination, autonomy, social and communication skills, and adaptation to the environment. It has three classrooms, a physiotherapy room, a multisensory room, and a dining room, with adapted furniture and materials, sensory, alternative and augmentative communication, cognitive and multisensory stimulation, psychomotricity, and physiotherapy. The school hours are from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with continuous hours in September and June from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, which includes the meal service.
Tuition is free in the state-funded stages. The school may ask for voluntary contributions and charge for services such as lunch.
