Escola Josep Peñuelas del Rio

The center is publicly owned and offers early childhood education (second cycle, from 3 to 6 years) and primary education (from 6 to 12 years). Teaching is conducted in Catalan.

In early childhood education, the learning environments project is carried out, which promotes the autonomous learning of students of different ages and levels. Seven environments are organized, each corresponding to a multiple intelligence.

The center has a dining service and has a theater project at the school. It also has an AFA (parents' association).

The center organizes activities such as the solidarity race, which has celebrated its tenth edition, the Cultural Week 'Explica'm el món' and radio programs on the occasion of Sant Jordi. Furthermore, plays from different courses are performed.

The center publishes the school calendar for the 2026/2027 school year for families.

The center's profile indicates the stages of early childhood second cycle (3-6) and primary (6-12), the Catalan language, and services such as dining, AFA, and theater. It also notes that there is nearby bus transport in La Jonquera.
