Cerrillo De Maracena

Cerrillo de Maracena is a semi-private school located in the Chana district of Granada, offering Early Childhood and Primary Education. Its proposal is defined as Christian: it educates from the Gospel and seeks growth in community and faith. The training is approached in an integral way and centered on the person, addressing the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of the students. The center is part of an educational foundation with more than seventy years of experience, since 1953, which brings together eleven centers spread across the province of Granada.

In pedagogical terms, the school adapts the teaching processes to the pace and abilities of each student and seeks meaningful learning, linking content to everyday life. Teachers accompany and guide students to promote their autonomy and critical thinking. In the Early Childhood stage, active methodologies such as Montessori and neuroeducation are employed, with play, exploration, and creativity as the axes of discovery. In Primary, curiosity and collaborative work are encouraged, so that each student develops their competencies and contributes their strengths to the group. Teaching is conducted in Spanish, and English is included.

The center offers a cafeteria, with balanced menus that also facilitate family and work reconciliation. It also has a morning classroom, a space before classes that promotes autonomy and coexistence; a waiting room, where students remain supervised while waiting for their pickup; and an afternoon classroom, to reinforce learning, complete tasks, and participate in educational activities after the school day. It completes its offer with extracurricular activities.
