Escola Sant Llorenç - ZER Montsià

Escola Sant Llorenç is a public school located in La Galera that is part of the ZER Montsià, a grouping of rural schools that covers the age range from 1 to 12 years. The school offers Early Childhood Education, both in its first cycle (0-3) and in the second (3-6), as well as Primary Education (6-12). The vehicular language is Catalan.

The ZER Montsià integrates five schools and organizes joint activities for students from all of them. Among the initiatives carried out are the celebration of the Diada de Sant Jordi, with workshops for roses, creation of bookmarks, shared readings, and storytelling, as well as the annual Diada of the ZER, which brings together the educational community in a day of coexistence with scavenger hunts and other activities. The school also participates in proposals such as the Jocs Florals Escolars de Catalunya, aimed at fostering creativity and a love for writing, and in activities to raise awareness against bullying.

The educational project of the ZER includes work around reading and the library, as well as a digital strategy for the school. Additionally, linguistic immersion stays in English are organized for upper cycle students, with sports and recreational activities in everyday contexts, and solidarity actions for food collection are promoted.
