Escola El Corb

Escola El Corb is a public center for early childhood and primary education located in Corbera de Llobregat. It offers the first cycle of Early Childhood Education (0-3 years), the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years), and Primary Education (6-12 years), with Catalan as the vehicular language.

In the Early Childhood Education stage, the center organizes learning around the curiosity and experimentation of children. It works with a globalized methodology, where content is related through experiential experiences. Literacy begins in I3 based on the child's own name and sounds, and progresses functionally until the introduction of cursive writing in I5, respecting each student's developmental process. In mathematics, it uses the EMAT method and manipulative activities, dedicating specific sessions to psychomotricity, understood as a space for free play and guided challenges where movement serves as an expression of emotions and discoveries. Music education is presented as a sensory experience where singing, dancing, and playing instruments occur, using songs as a thread to work on language and traditions. English is introduced at this stage as a first contact with the language in a natural and playful way.

The center has a school library and a digital center school, and develops its own projects such as AraArt, in the artistic field. It participates in the Escola Verda program, with actions such as bringing fruit on Wednesdays, replacing aluminum foil with more sustainable materials, and using reusable lunch boxes and bottles, and has delegates who have recorded a podcast on the Corbera radio to explain these initiatives. Students from the initial cycle went on a trip to CRAM and conducted a solidarity campaign to sponsor two turtles. The center publishes a school magazine and has an AFA.
