Escola Carles Buïgas

Escola Carles Buïgas is a public school in Cerdanyola del Vallès with over fifty years of experience. It offers early childhood education, organized into small, medium, and large groups, as well as primary education. Among its services, it has a school cafeteria and a welcome classroom (AFI), in addition to extracurricular activities. Teaching is conducted in Spanish and Catalan.

The center promotes various own projects. The students from the medium community participate in a school radio program, Ràdio Buïgas, where they work on oral and written language, expression, and communication, and which collects news from the different communities within the center. In early childhood, experiential psychomotricity is developed following the Aucouturier methodology, focused on the body, movement, and emotions. Additionally, all students, from early childhood to sixth grade, receive training in basic life support to know how to act in an emergency. In the English area, the children from I4 created the Colours Song, a song about colors.

The school also participates in scientific initiatives, such as a meeting with a biochemist from the Sincrotrón Alba as part of the #Científiques project, and maintains a commitment to bring fruit on Wednesdays after a trip to Mercabarna to learn about the origin of this food. Furthermore, the students of the center take part in the Milles Nocturnes of Cerdanyola.
