De La Cabrera

IES La Cabrera is a public secondary education center located in La Cabrera. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO), basic vocational training (CFGB), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). The regular school schedule runs from 8:25 AM to 2:30 PM. The center provides a school transport service, with established routes and published schedules for students.

The start of the school year is organized in a staggered manner, aiming to facilitate the incorporation and welcome of students. During the first week of classes, a reduced schedule is applied, which the center uses to develop activities aimed at promoting cohesion and group knowledge, recognizing spaces and the functioning of the center, familiarizing with the tools and digital resources that will be used during the course, and working on aspects related to emotional management and adaptation to the new stage. Additionally, the center invites families who are joining for the first time to an informative meeting in the Assembly Hall, where the general lines of the course and the organization of the center are presented. In that first week, the school transport service adjusts its schedules to the reduced timetable.

The center has a Virtual Classroom and promotes initiatives such as a school newspaper, a radio station, and the Raíces project, as well as a tutored library. It participates in the Erasmus program and in a school exchange program with Liceo Statale Rinaldo Corso (Correggio, Italy), and its students take part in projects such as the Route to Exile and Tarragona Refugia.
