Escola Doctor Arruga

Escola Doctor Arruga is a public school in Begur that provides early childhood education and primary education. It offers school meal services and school transport, with applications or renewals managed for each academic year.

Throughout the year, the school develops various projects and activities. It participates in the APPA program (Actions for Prevention to Promote Learning), aimed at detecting learning difficulties and improving oral and reading skills. The sixth-grade students have participated in the Aules de Cinema project, featuring a short film screening at the Begur Comedy Film Fest, as well as in the 'Jo de gran vull ser com tu' project. In the group of older students, the 'Les Màquines' project was carried out, culminating in the construction of models and their presentation at an exhibition, while the younger students visited a sculpture exhibition in Palafrugell.

The school hosts its own fair, the Fira Arrugabòtica, and participates in initiatives such as the Fira de Nadal, with proceeds going to La Marató, the Carmen Amaya Flamenco Festival in Begur, and the Science Day. It also has a school radio, with programs created by students and broadcasted by Ràdio Begur. The school has an AFA and a School Council, where families elect their representatives.
