Escola El Turó

Escola El Turó is a public center in Barcelona, in the Nou Barris district, that provides early childhood and primary education. In the early childhood stage, the center organizes work around various educational environments. In symbolic play, students playfully reproduce everyday situations and adopt different roles, promoting interaction and communication while experimenting with materials. In the construction environment, creativity and skill are developed through real or imagined constructions, experimenting with size, volume, height, or symmetry. The artistic environment works on creativity, perception, and integral development through the manipulation of materials and different techniques. In the space called toca-toca, children formulate hypotheses and discover the mathematical characteristics and properties of materials—measurement, weight, numbering, geometry, and colors—stimulated by all the senses. Robotics introduces technological and programming skills through play, stimulating creativity and problem-solving. The world of stories is a space to awaken interest in reading and writing, creativity, expression, and listening. Finally, in body and movement, awareness of body schema is worked on through movement, dance, and the use of materials.

The center participates in a joint modeling project 0-6 with EBM Turó, framed in a program that seeks to provide continuity and coherence to the schooling of children from 0 to 6 years to ensure their harmonious development. Among its objectives are the analysis of methodological strategies and organizational aspects of the center, the detection of common elements in supporting families, and the identification of synergies generated during the project.

The center publishes general information for the start of the school year, provides a list of textbooks, and offers families the possibility to purchase the books, and manages the pre-registration process with the publication of the list of assigned students.
