Institut Fort Pius is a public secondary education center located in the L'Eixample district of Barcelona, presenting itself as an institution with forty years of presence in the neighborhood. It offers the four years of compulsory secondary education and the Bachillerato stage, with Spanish and Catalan as working languages.
The center organizes language pair groupings and has students with intensive support, who have participated in joint outings. It has a guidance department that conducts sessions aimed at first-year ESO students to explain the pathways that open up throughout their schooling, as well as the subsequent transition to ESO. It has a parent association (AFA) and maintains regular communication through a monthly newsletter and an agenda.
Among its activities are a reading club, a music band formed by second-year ESO students, an elective video editing course, and participation in the Marató per l'Emergència Climàtica. Three first-year ESO groups won the top three prizes in the scientific contest Cap a l'Eclipsi, organized by the CSIC and the Institute of Space Sciences. The center has also hosted talks by writers, such as the one by author Albert Pijuan directed at second-year ESO students.
