Escola Torrent D'en Melis

Escola Torrent d'en Melis is a public school in Barcelona, located in the Horta-Guinardó district. It provides early childhood education (first and second cycle) and primary education, the latter organized into initial, middle, and upper cycles. The working languages are Spanish and Catalan, and the school offers a cafeteria service and extracurricular activities.

The school promotes the Agència de Comunicació FariMelis, a multimedia communication project developed in collaboration with Escola La Farigola del Clot, where students create journalistic content, podcasts, videos, and interviews, some in Catalan and English. Among other projects, the groups have prepared pieces about Dansa Ara, the transition to secondary education, and swimming outings during school hours, as well as a magazine for the Jocs Florals that gathers texts and drawings from primary students.

In the area of sustainability, the school participates in Escoles + Sostenibles and works on content related to food and healthy habits, with initiatives such as the fruitòmetre during breakfast time. The educational community has a parent association (AFA) and informative blogs about the school calendar and school materials.
